Measuring the Performance of Retrofitted Homes

Thank you for your interest in the SMETER project. Please let us know a bit more about your home so we can see if your home is a good fit for the project.

Do you
What sort of home is it?
Was your home built before 1997?
How many storeys does your home have?
Has your home had a ceiling insulation installed or topped up in the past?
If yes, when was it done?
Did you do it yourself or was it done by a professional installer?
Is your ground floor a concrete slab-on-ground floor or a suspended floor?
Does your home have a Smart Meter for the electricity?
Would you/the tenant be willing to allow us to access your electricity data for the duration of the study?
We will be monitoring the home until the end of August 2027, so we are looking for participants who can work with us for this whole period. Which of these describe your situation best?
Aside from ceiling insulation, are you planning on doing major renovations on the house that will affect the thermal envelope (e.g. building an extension or insulating the outside walls) before the end of August 2027?
What is your main source of heating?
Has your home had cavity wall insulation installed or topped up in the past?
Is it double brick or brick veneer?
